The PIPARI project aims to provide families with children born very preterm with reliable information on the child’s survival in early childhood and at school age. Participants include over 470 infants, including very low birth weight and very preterm infants born from 2001 to 2006 and full-term control infants born from 2001 to 2003, in Finland. Baseline data were collected at birth, and participants are being followed up into adulthood, evaluating physical, motor, cognitive, and neuropsychological development. Most recently, data were collected from the participants at age 17 years.
