The Pizarra Study is a population-based cohort study undertaken in Pizarra, Spain. Baseline data were recorded in 1997-1998 and consisted of information on age, sex, weight, height, waist and hip circumferences, and diabetes status for 1,051 persons, of whom 910 were free of type 2 diabetes (at-risk sample). The cohort was re-evaluated in 2003–2004 and in 2009–2010.
