Sample details

PMAET Panel Cohort 1 was designed to collect data on maternal and newborn health in Ethiopia and assess various factors associated with initiating and continuing maternal and neonatal care. Participants were recruited from urban and rural regions of the Addis, Afar, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, and SNNP regions of Ethiopia. Within these regions, all women aged 15-49 who reported being pregnant or having given birth within the last six weeks were invited into the study, resulting in a baseline cohort of over 2,600 pregnant or recently delivered women.
