The PMA study aims to measure and explain contraceptive use dynamics and gender-related influences on family planning. It is being carried out in Kenya, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoir, Niger, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo and India. In PMA Kenya, the Household and Female (HQFQ) Surveys were conducted annually, beginning in 2019 and with follow-ups for the panel occurring in 2020 and 2021. The Service Delivery Point (SDP) Survey panel baseline data was collected in 2019, and follow-up data were collected annually. The SDP Client Exit Survey was conducted biannually, with a baseline and a follow-up occurring six months later. PMA Kenya had an open panel design, including additional households and participants each year. In 2019, over 10,000 households were surveyed, and almost 9,500 women aged 15 to 45 years were interviewed.
