Persian Organisational Cohort in Mashhad (POCM)

The POCM is a prospective cohort study aiming to investigate the burden and risk factors of non-communicable diseases among personnel of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, Iran, with a target of 12,000 participants. Recruitment began in 2017, and participants were enrolled through workplace-based invitations and advertisements. The cohort consists of adult university employees aged 30 to 70 years. At baseline, 5,287 participants had been enrolled, with ongoing recruitment to reach the full sample size. Participants are followed up annually via phone interviews and undergo comprehensive clinical and laboratory assessments every 5 years over a planned 15-year follow-up period.
