The Multinational Monitoring of Determinants and Trends in Cardiovascular Disease (MONICA) study examined the dynamics of cardiovascular disease rates and risk factors from the early 1980s to the late 1990s across various countries. POL-MONICA recruited adults aged 25 to 65 years from Warsaw and Krakow in Poland between 1983 and 1984. Over 9,000 participants completed the baseline data collection. Data were collected from participants in 1984, 1988, and 1994, and mortality was followed up until 1998.
