Post traumatic stress disorder reactions in children of war: a longitudinal study
BACK
Sample details

The study aimed to investigate the prevalence of post-traumatic stress reactions in Palestinian children and the relationship between traumatic experiences, behavioural and emotional problems, and PTSD reactions. Participants were 239 children recruited from elementary schools across the five geographical regions of the Gaza Strip in Palestine and were aged six to 11 years at baseline assessment. Baseline assessment took place in the mid-1990s, shortly following a period of war in the region, and follow-up occurred one year after baseline.
