This study examined the predictors of psychological distress in Palestinian children exposed to military trauma. The initial sample comprised 108 children from schools within refugee camps and urban areas in the occupied Gaza Strip, Palestine. The participants were first studied in 1993 (during the First Intifada) when they were 10 to 11 years old, and subsequently followed up in 1996 (during the period of the Palestinian Authority rule), and again in 2000 (just before the start of the Al Aqsa Intifada), when they were aged 17 to 18 years.
