The PREHCO Project aims to investigate the health and social conditions of elderly individuals in Puerto Rico. Initially, the study involved 4,291 participants aged 60 and over, along with 1,442 of their spouses, recruited from across the island. Follow-up of participants has occured two times since the first data collection between 2002 and 2003, with the second wave conducted between 2006 and 2007, with 3,891 participants and 1,260 of their spouses. The third wave took place from 2021 to 2022, innvolving 958 participants, either directly or through an informant proxy.
