BACK
Sample details

This study aimed to evaluate the association between prepregnancy dietary patterns (DPs) and perinatal outcomes. Around 250 pregnant women aged 20 to 40 years were recruited from a public health care centre in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and were assessed at 5 and 13 gestational weeks. Participants were followed up at three visits: at 20 to 26 gestational weeks, 30 to 36 gestational weeks, and 30 to 40 days postpartum. The study was conducted between 2009 and 2012.
