Puerto Rico Heart Health Program (PRHHP)

The PRHHP was designed to examine the epidemiology of coronary heart disease (CHD), including morbidity and mortality associated with CHD. Participants were over 9,000 men aged 35 to 79 years in urban and rural Puerto Rico. Baseline assessment began in 1965, and participants were followed up three times at intervals of 2.5 to 3 years. Mortality was followed up until 1981.
