Sample details

The DNBC Puberty Cohort, a longitudinal sub-cohort, was formed within the larger DNBC study, comprising singletons born between 2000 and 2003 whose mothers participated in an early interview. Over 22,000 eligible children (11,446 boys and 10,993 girls) were sampled based on various pre- and perinatal exposures, including maternal smoking and pre-pregnancy body mass index, alongside a random frame of 8,000 children, aimed at enhancing exposure contrasts relevant to pubertal timing. The children were asked to complete an online questionnaire on their development.
