The QCR is a registry of all reported cancer cases in the Australian state of Queensland since 1982 (excluding basal and squamous cell carcinomas). In 2020, there were over 32,000 new cancer cases reported to the QCR, which translates to a standardised rate of 532.8 per 100,000 persons (608.4 per 100,000 in males and 465.5 per 100,000 in females) for all new cancers reported in 2020. The incidence rate in males 80 and older was 1.6 times higher than females in 2020 (3,732.0 per 100,000 for males and 2,329 per 100,000 for females). The QCR is one of the largest population-based cancer registries in Australia and is a unique data resource, bringing the most comprehensive set of cancer data elements together to provide an accurate picture of cancer in Queensland.
