The cohort includes 2,000 children representative of the population and 1,017 children exhibiting disruptive behaviour problems who were attending French-speaking public schools in the Canadian province of Quebec during the 1986–87 and 1987–88 school years. The study has also involved the participants' parents and the first children of the participants, capturing three generations of individuals.
