Sample details

The QUALITY cohort follows 630 families, consisting of children and both biological parents, across Quebec province, Canada. Eligible participants were Caucasian children of Western European ancestry aged between 8 and 10 years with at least one obese biological parent, and both biological parents were available to participate at baseline. A school-based sampling strategy was utilised, with recruitment flyers distributed over 3 consecutive years to parents of children in Grades 2 to 5 in 1,040 primary schools across the province.
