Rafsanjan Cohort Study (RCS)

The RCS is a population-based prospective cohort of men and women aged between 35 and 70 years, and was launched in August of 2015. The RCS is part of the PERSIAN study consortium. Individuals from diverse socioeconomic levels and lifestyles were recruited from four urban and suburban areas of Rafsanjan, Iran. Close to 10,000 individuals were enrolled in RCS, 53.41% of which were females. Around 26% of men in the sample were pistachio farmers, and the average age of all participants at baseline was 49.91 years.
