The RCCS follows a cohort of 300 participants in China who experienced a stroke within one month prior to recruitment in order to observe outcomes and predictors of cognitive impairment in patients with cerebral small vessel diseases. At the time of recruitment, participants were aged 50 to 85 years and must have had at least six years of education. The study also recruited 100 healthy control participants.
