The Rhineland Study is a long-term, prospective population study initiated by the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) that examines factors that relate to healthy physical and mental aging. The study examines up to 20,000 people from the age of 30 onward. The participants are examined repeatedly every 3 to 4 years over the course of their lives. Residents of the city districts of Beuel and Hardtberg in Germany (including the surrounding area) participate.
