RS-I investigates the prevalence, incidence, and risk of chronic diseases in middle-aged and elderly populations in the Netherlands. In 1990, the study recruited adults aged 55 and older living in the Onmoord suburb of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. At baseline, over 7,900 participants were included in the cohort. RS-I collected data at seven time points over 19 years, with the final data collection taking place between 2018 and 2019.
