SABRE is a large tri-ethnic population-based cohort of White British people and first-generation migrants of South Asian or African Caribbean heritage recruited from West London in the United Kingdom. Baseline initially comprised two studies of individuals aged 40-69 selected at random from GP practices and workplaces in the London boroughs of Southall (1988–90), and Brent (1990–91). SABRE was initiated in 2008 as a 20-year follow-up of the two baseline studies and the cohort have since been followed-up for over 30 years across 4 waves.
