SABRE is the largest tri-ethnic population-based cohort in the United Kingdom consisting of White British people and first-generation migrants of South Asian or African Caribbean heritage recruited from West London. The original studies were conducted between 1988 and 1991, at a time when the majority of first generation South Asian and African Caribbean people who had migrated to the United Kingdom were entering middle age.
