SAPADLIA aims to investigate the effects of lifestyle and environment on chronic diseases and ageing in adults of the Swiss general population. Almost 10,000 adults were recruited from across Switzerland to take part in the baseline data collection in 1991. Since then, participants have been followed up in 2001 to 2003, 2009 to 2011, and 2016 to 2018. There is also another follow-up underway.
