SPAN is a project within the Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN), which uses its Virtual Data Warehouse (VDW) to provide a standardised, federated data system across several partner health plans in the United States of America. The VDW consists of commonly-defined linked tables within each health plan. Two cohorts have been analysed within the project: a cohort of individuals with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder who have received differing treatments; and a cohort of individuals with obesity, with and without diagnosed depression, who were and were not treated with weight-loss surgery.
