Sample details

The SeniorLINES study was a longitudinal cohort study designed to evaluate the health trajectories and outcomes of older adults following hospitalisation. The study involved 1,274 participants aged 70 and above, recruited from the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) in the northern Netherlands. Participants were recruited during hospital admissions between 2015 and 2020 if they were hospitalized for at least two consecutive days, cognitively able to provide informed consent, and fluent in Dutch. The study was conducted in three distinct waves: Waves 1 and 2 included baseline assessments during hospitalisation and follow-ups at 3 and 12 months post-discharge, while Wave 3 added a discharge assessment and follow-ups at 3 and 6 months.
