Sample details

SH2012 is a nationally representative survey which aims to assess the health status and health-related lifestyle factors of Singaporeans. Between 2012 and 2013, the study recruited participants who were Singaporean or permanent residents of Singapore, born between July 1933 and June 1994, who planned to reside in the same household for at least 3 months and spend at least 4 days per week in that household. The study oversampled people of Malay and indian descent to ensure accurate representation of ethnic minority groups. At baseline, SH2012 included over 2,300 participants. Participants were followed up between 2016 and 2021. A second follow-up began in 2022 and is currently ongoing.
