Sample details

The SHM study aims to investigate the impact of sleep disorders on various health outcomes in men. When the study began in 1984, participants included over 3,000 men aged between 60 and 69. Approximately 230 participants were involved in a sub-study where they underwent overnight sleep studies to assess the impacts of hypertension on sleep. Participants were followed up in 1994 and again in 2007, with additional follow-up through linkage processes in 2017.
