The SIP Study, initiated in 2009 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, United States, initially enrolled women in their second trimester receiving antenatal care at the obstetrics and gynaecology (OB/GYN) Department. The study further includes 416 offspring as part of a natural disaster quasi-experiment, involving women who experienced Superstorm Sandy during pregnancy (cases) and those who did not (controls). Follow-up comprises 12 face-to-face examinations spanning from 6 months to 6 years. At birth, 690 mothers and 722 infants were eligible, 41.3% of which are female.
