SMDS collects information on individuals' journeys through substance misuse services in Wales. The dataset includes information on the duration of substance use, type of substance use, housing status, referrals, assessments, treatment modalities, treatment outcomes and discharge. Participants are tracked using their National Health Service (NHS) number, which links their healthcare and service use records.
