São Paulo Ageing & Health Study (SPAH)
Over 700 older adults aged over 65 years were recruited through their residency in Butantã, São Paulo. The population was based within the areas with the lowest Human Development Index scores. The participants were aged between 65 and 102 years, with approximately 60% women. The participants were followed up five years after baseline.
