Sample details

The SPHC was set up to inform on determinants and consequences of significant contributors to the current burden of disease. Over 100,000 participants have been randomly selected from the adult population of respondents to the Public Health Survey, in Stockholm County, Sweden. Five sub-cohorts have been created with between 20,000 and 35,000 participants in each, and baseline data collection being carried out in 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2021, respectively. All groups were re-contacted at each data collection following their baseline. All participants are also linked to administrative data.
