Shahroud Schoolchildren Eye Cohort Study (SSCECS)

The SSCECS follows a cohort of over 5,600 students aged between 6 and 12 years old in the city of Shahroud, Semnan Province, Iran. All primary schoolchildren in rural areas were invited to participate, with over 1,100 rural students included in the cohort. Additionally, a cluster random sample of 200 classes was selected for recruitment of students in urban areas, with over 4,400 urban students included in the cohort.
