Sample details

The participants in the SSS were aged 49 to 87 years, and had no history of neurologic disorders prior to their stroke. The patients were assessed within a week of their hospitalisation, and then followed up between 3 and 6 months. Approximately 170 patients were recruited into the study, with almost 100 healthy control participants.
