Sample details

This study evaluated the association between post-traumatic disorder (PTSD) and hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis responses to the triggering trauma. From 2005, the study recruited 279 adult non-injured survivors of traumatic events who were admitted to hospital for assessment and treatment following a traumatic incident. Participants were assessed during their hospital admissions, and 10 days, one month, and five months later at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel.
