Sample details

SWEOLD investigates the living conditions of older adults in Sweden. Participants aged at least 77 years and residents of Sweden are recruited from the Swedish Level of Living Survey (LNU). Through continuous recruitment, the study has grown from 537 participants in 1992 to 1,200 in 2021. SWEOLD continues to recruit new participants to retain a nationally representative sample and investigate the evolving demographics of Sweden's older population. Follow-ups are conducted approximately every 10 years to track changes in living conditions.
