The SYPE aimed to investigate the transition to adulthood in a representative population of young adults from Egypt. The study recruited young people aged between 10 and 29 years from across the urban governorates, urban Upper Egypt, rural Upper Egypt, rural Lower Egypt, urban Lower Egypt, and the frontier governorates. Approximately 15,000 participants participated in the baseline data collection, creating a nationally and sub-nationally representative cohort with representation from all economic strata and education levels.
