The TAB-C study aimed to improve the understanding of parents’ psychosocial adjustment following their child’s diagnosis of a serious childhood illness or injury (SCII). Participants were parents of children admitted to 4 different Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne, Australia) departments: Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, and Intensive Care. In addition, some of the children also completed questionnaires alongside their parents. Baseline data collection began in 2011, and data was collected from participants across four time points following the child’s admission to the hospital: within the first 4 weeks, 4 months, 7 months, and 19 months. The study was concluded in 2017.
