The TAPS tracked a wide range of socio-economic and anthropometric variables from all indigenous residents in 13 villages along the Maniqui River, Bolivia. The sample included 633 adults 16 years of age and older and 820 children under the age of 16. The sample later expanded to include newcomers to the villages, encompassing newborns, individuals moving in due to marriage, or returning residents.
