TBPS investigated the relationship between the environment, genetics and child health outcomes in a cohort of families based in Taiwan. The study recruited families composed of mothers, fathers, and newborn babies from hospitals and clinics in Taipei City, Sansia, Sinjhuang, and Lujhou in Taiwan. Mothers and fathers were recruited during pregnancy to allow for prenatal data collection. A total of 486 families participated in the study. Participants completed data collection seven times: at recruitment, shortly before or after delivery in 2004-2005; when the baby was aged 4 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 5 years, 7 years, and 9-10 years.
