Tehran cardiometabolic genetic study (TCGS)

TCGS investigates genetic factors contributing to cardiometabolic diseases among Iranians. All individuals aged 3 years and older living in District 13 of Tehran were recruited into the study. The study also includes participants from the Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study (TLGS), Tehran Obesity Treatment Study (TOTS), Tehran Cardiovascular Study (TCS), and the Cardiovascular Family Study (CFS), resulting in over 20,000 participants. The study includes various ethnic groups in Iran, including Persian, Turk, and Gilak. Participants are followed up every three years to monitor their health and gather longitudinal data, ensuring comprehensive and ongoing insights into cardiometabolic health.
