The TERBO BRAIN study focuses on understanding brain network development related to emotional regulation in adolescents aged between 9 and 14 years. The study aimed to follow participants for two years and compare those who are perinatally human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-exposed and negative (PHEN) with a population-based cohort. Additionally, a one-time assessment was planned for young adults aged between 22 and 29 years who were living with HIV since birth or those who were PHEN, examining long-term brain network integrity and various outcomes during the transition to adulthood.
