Sample details

The 90+ study investigates aging and dementia in adults aged 90 and above. The study recruits adults aged 90 and older from Southern California in the United States of America. At baseline, over 900 participants were recruited from the Leisure World Cohort Study (LWCS) which began in 1981. Participants are followed up every six months by the study team. Participants are also given the option to donate their brains after death to allow post-mortem studies. The cohort is comprised of mostly women (66%) who are white, well-educated, and upper middle class.
