The Study of a Generation was a longitudinal study of adolescents in Ontario, Canada. The study began in 1973, with over 2,500 grade 12 students across 99 high schools in Ontario completing questionnaires. 5 further phases of data collection were completed, with the latest occurring in 1995 when participants were aged 40-42 years. The study initially focused on monitoring the attitudes and behaviours of high school students with respect to their educational plans, but later shifted focus onto school-to-work transitions and their passage to adulthood.
