The Siblings and Friends project is one of the Timescapes qualitative longitudinal studies. This project tracked the lives of around 50 children and young people that were born between 1989 and 1996, from a range of ethnic and class backgrounds, and geographical locations across England, Scotland and Wales. The project draws on samples of children from three previous projects conducted under the ESRC’s Families & Social Capital Research Group programme between 2003 and 2005. Participants who were aged between 5 and 13 at the time of the original interview from all three studies were invited to take part in the Siblings and Friends project for two waves of follow-up work, tracking them from middle childhood into their teenage years.
