TJBC investigates the impact of early-life exposures on long-term health outcomes. Pregnant women included in the study and their spouses are residents of six central urban districts (Heping, Nankai, Hexi, Hedong, Hebei, and Hongqiao) and three suburban districts (Beichen, Dongli, and Jinnan) of Tianjin, China. The study has recruited over 3,900 participants and continues to enrol to reach 10,000. Follow-ups are conducted at multiple stages: early, mid, and late pregnancy, at delivery, 42 days after delivery, 6 months after delivery, and annually until the child reaches six years old.
