Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study (TLGS)

The TLGS is a population-based cohort study of over 15,000 residents in district 13 of Tehran, Iran. Residents aged between 3 and 69 years were first recruited into the study from March 1999 to December 2001 if under the coverage of three medical health centres in the district. While the first phase of TLGS was a cross-sectional study, the second phase onwards was designed as a longitudinal study including the implementation of lifestyle interventions.
