Sample details

TLSA is a prospective cohort of a sample of 4,049 adult residents aged 60 and above in non-aboriginal townships of Taiwan. The baseline survey was conducted in 1989 and the respondents have been followed every three to four years (1993, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023). Fresh samples were selected in 1996, 2003, and 2015 in order to maintain the representativeness of the younger age cohort and extend the representativeness of the sample to the population aged 50 and above.
