Sample details

The Tongji Maternal and Child Health Cohort (TMCHC) began in 2013, investigating the pre-, peri-, and post-natal determinants of mother-child pairs' health. Over 8,000 pregnant women were recruited and first interviewed for inclusion in TMCHC from January 2013 to May 2016 from three public hospitals in the city of Wuhan, China: the Hubei Maternal and Child Health hospital, the Jiangan Maternal and Child Health hospital, and the Central Hospital of Wuhan. Following birth, over 5,000 mother-child pairs were included at 1-month postpartum, with subsequent follow-ups at 3, 6, 12, 24, and 72 months postpartum.
