Tokyo Centenarian Study (TCS)

The TCS aimed to explore the characteristics of centenarians, including lifestyle habits, cognitive factors, personality and genetic features. Participants were over 500 individuals over the age of 100 living in 23 wards of Tokyo, Japan, randomly selected from resident registries. Baseline data collection, including questionnaires and physical examination, took place from 2000 to 2002, and participants were followed up annually to determine mortality until 2012.
