The Townsend Thai project aimed to collect information regarding households and village headmen's (i.e., the person appointed to administer a single village) economic activities across various regions of Thailand, assisting with the availability of information for better policy making. Collecting information from rural and urban areas of the country, the project have collected data from over 2,500 households, whereby the data has been collected annually since 1997, and monthly within certain villages.
