TTA was a longitudinal study of around 4,000 adolescents (aged 12-24 years) growing up in two informal settlements, Korogocho and Viwandani, in Nairobi City (the capital city) of Kenya. The cohort were randomly sampled from the Nairobi Urban Health and Demographic Surveillance System (NUHDSS) and were first interviewed in 2007-2008.
