Sample details

The Uppsala Family Study aimed to study the effects of birth weight and growth on cardiovascular, metabolic and bone-related outcomes. UFS recruited 602 families, comprising mother, father and two consecutive singleton offspring (aged 5 to 14) who were delivered at the Uppsala Academic Hospital, Sweden, between 1987 and 1995, using national population and birth registries. Baseline data collection occurred in 2000-2001, with a follow-up in 2010-2014.
